Gator Club® Website Info

"Must-Haves"

There are several requirements for Gator Club® websites as laid out in the Gator Club® Leaders Manual. The following items should be on any Gator Club® website:

  • Gator Club® or Alumni Association logo:
If your club does not have a logo, use the UF Alumni Association’s logo. Please call the Alumni office if you’d like to have the Alumni Association logo sent electronically. The UFAA website provides a listing of each club with contact & event info

  • UF Alumni Association Affiliation Statement:
Gator Clubs® operate as not for profit organizations under the corporate umbrella of the UF Alumni Association. It is a requirement that you include the following affiliation statement on your home page and on all of your club communication pieces (i.e.: newsletter, mailers, letterhead). The statement will read:
  • “An affiliated organization of the UF Alumni Association”

  • Gator Club® Mission:
As affiliated organizations of the UF Alumni Association, each club’s mission is the same as the association’s. The following mission statement MUST be included in your home page where appropriate”

"The Mission of the _______________ Gator Club® is to foster and enhance the relationship between the University of Florida, its alumni, students and friends in the city of ____________, its surrounding areas, (or in a specific county) and to support the university’s mission of teaching, research and service"

  • The "®" symbol:
Recently, the UF Alumni Association has registered the name "Gator Club" as a trademark of the UF Alumni Association. To ensure our legal protection of this name, please be sure to use the "®" anytime you use the name Gator Club® or Gator Clubs®. The ® is available in almost all word processors as a symbol. For instructions on how to place the ® on a webpage, please see Tips & Tricks: Symbols section.
